But the busiest period begins in fall, as soon-to-graduate high school seniors and other students begin to think about the academic year that starts nearly a year later and review scholarship offerings.

In this same period, the foundation holds scholarship nights at local high schools and provides preliminary application information. In late fall, the new scholarship application appears on the foundation’s website, and students begin applying.

Applications close in late winter. Afterwards, the foundation, its volunteers and partners spend weeks reviewing applications and determining awards. Most scholarship awards are announced in the spring.
