Julian Zebot | Maslon LLP
Julian Zebot is a board member, partner in the Litigation Group, and chair of the Trust & Estate Litigation practice at the Minneapolis law firm of Maslon LLP. He focuses his legal practice on probate, fiduciary, and trust litigation as well as business and commercial litigation. He has counseled and represented individual and business clients in both federal and state courts as well as arbitration proceedings, and he has handled matters for clients at all stages of the litigation process. Among his many other leadership roles, Julian is a fellow and member of several committees of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and he frequently writes and speaks on topics relating to probate, fiduciary, and trust litigation, fiduciary risk management, and professional ethics.
Heidi Sigfrids | Superior School District
Heidi Sigfrids has worked as an educator for the School District of Superior since 2013. She previously served as a high school marketing education teacher as well as a guidance counselor before transitioning into her current position as an assistant principal at Superior High School.
Heidi attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in education as well as a masters degree in school counseling. In 2020, she obtained her master’s in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Heidi is committed to the continued development of community partnerships that bridge gaps and meet the needs of students, their families and the larger community.
Peter Pfankuch | Foundant Technologies
Peter Pfankuch is a senior manager at Foundant Technologies, a philanthropic software company that helps maximize the impact of the philanthropic sector. He has been there since 2018 working directly with community foundations of all sizes throughout the US and Canada to help solve the unique challenges they face. After growing up in Minneapolis and graduating from Montana State University with degrees in Economics and Business, he is now grateful to call Duluth, and its engaged and beautiful community, home.
Aileen Beard | College of St. Scholastica
Aileen Beard serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Chemistry at The College of St. Scholastica, where she previously served as Dean of the School of Sciences. She earned a B.S degree in Chemistry from Marquette University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Utah. She has been very active in chemistry research with a wide variety of projects in environmental organic, sustainability, and food chemistry. Her most recent research involves the chemistry of beer. She has a deep commitment to serving the community and helping individuals achieve their potential. A native of Southern Wisconsin, she has lived in Duluth since 2012.
Matthew Vaillant | North Shore Bank of Commerce
Matthew Vaillant is a Senior Vice President at North Shore Bank of Commerce, with oversight of their Consumer Banking, Private Banking, and Insurance Departments. He is a lifelong Duluthian who joined North Shore Bank in 2007 and has worked in various production and management roles throughout the organization, including investment management and financial planning. Matt graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a degree in business management and accounting. He has also attended Boston University’s Certified Financial Planning Program and the Graduate School of Banking – Wisconsin Madison. Matt is actively engaged with the American Bankers Association and the Minnesota Bankers Association through his participation in several councils and committees. He looks forward to leveraging his passion for innovative thinking and collaborative change management to support the Foundation in its efforts to build a stronger and more vibrant community.
Angela Gilbertson | Reflections Treatment Center
Angela Gilbertson attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and received a degree in Psychology prior to deciding to make the Twin Ports area her home. Her degree was first used while working for Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center to aid survivors of domestic violence. Through her work with survivors, she began to notice the prevalence and need for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) resources in the Duluth community. Angela returned to school at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and completed the Chemical Dependency Certificate program. She became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in 2013 through the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. Over the last decade, Angela has worked within the SUD field in many roles from clinician, supervising existing programs, to opening new programs within the Twin Ports area. Angela is currently the Treatment Director of Reflections in Duluth and is a Treatment Expert on the 6th Judicial DWI Court Team. During her free time Angela loves spending time with her two children, husband, and dog doing anything outdoors, watching the Minnesota Vikings or the Duluth Harbor Monsters! Fear the Deep!
